In 2010, Peter Gabriel has released his album Scratch My Back. It was recorded without his band, but with full orchestra (see also our review here). Peter has covered twelve songs by other artists and shortly before its release he has announced a second album as kind of a counterpart to Scratch My Back: I'll Scratch Yours. This album would contain coversions of Peter Gabriel songs - recorded by the same artists who have been covered by Peter on Scratch My Back.
Some of the tracks on I'll Scratch Yours are well-known, since they were released on iTunes already. Peter decided to release a songswap pair as a double a-side single each Full Moon during 2010. That went well up until the middle of the album. Suddenly the project got stuck and Peter decided to put it on hold. Some rumours said that Bowie was not interested or others lost interest or were simply late with delivering their results.
In any case - this is the list we know today. The songs listed below that have not yet been released on iTunes have been mentioned in interviews and elsewhere since 2010. Nevertheless, they could still be changed.
Based on our information, I'll Scratch Yours will be released on 20th September (Germany), 23rd September (UK/Europe) and 24th September (USA). An official announcement can be expected soon.
UPDATE: The album can be preordered at amazon-uk already!
