Anthony Phillips: Yet another 5CD-Set this August
During the last couple of months, Anthony Phillips’ new record company has started to re-activate his back catalogue with a couple of rereleases. An extended 5-Disc Set, spanning his whole career and called Harvest Of The Heart: An Anthology, was released first and it offered a good and in parts deep look into the different worlds of Anthony Phillips, including some rarities such as Mike Rutherford’s Compression, which was released on CD before, but only on the very first German Genesis Fanclub CD (which is out of print these days). A full review about the Boxset is available on our site at this link.
A few weeks ago, a second release has pleased both, fans and critics. A 2CD/DVD-Set of his debut album The Geese And The Ghost, still considered as one of the key prog albums of all time by many fans, was released and for the first time ever, the set included the release of Only Your Love, sung by Phil Collins and originally intended to be the b-side to Silver Song back in the early days of Genesis. Also, a 5.1 surround version of the album has been created. We are currently close to finishing a review about that new surround sound version, so stay tuned for more information.
This August, yet another 5-Disc-set will be released. Private Parts & Pieves Vol. I-IV contains, besides the first four albums, a full bonus CD with rarities and bonus tracks, which remained unreleased until now. The title indicates that more releases like that are to come – and that Anthony’s archive must be a massive one. The following tracks are on this set:
DISC ONE:
Private Parts & Pieces
DISC TWO:
Private Parts & Pieces: Back To The Pavilion
DISC THREE:
Private Parts & Pieces III: Antiques
Motherforest
DISC FOUR:
Private Parts & Pieces IV: A Catch At The Tables
DISC FIVE:
Private Parts & Extra Pieces
The 5CD-Set will be released in Calmshell format. It should be quite similar to the The Geese And The Ghost-Box Box. The set can be ordered at amazon, Burningshed or directly at Cherry Red.
