Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway Tour 1974-75: The tour dates

There is probably no Genesis tour that is as enigmatic as the tour to promote The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. It has cult status because it was never filmed professionally, and good quality film material of the live performance is rare and never complete. Many tour dates were forgotten about so they never appeared in any lists. Many lists you can find on the internet and elswehere contained numerous wrong dates and/or locations – and many shows were cancelled or moved to a different date.

For the Lamb conventions in 2001 and 2012 (go here for a report and for photos) we have carefully assembled a list of tour dates, based on painstaking research. Interest in those conventions was gigantic – in both years both dates were sold out. Many questions about The Lamb are also discussed in the online world. Many Lamb experts such as Mino Profumo, Eddi Pachali, George German, Marcello Cirese and Serge Morissette have contributed to answering our questions about the tour. Additional information came from fans who still have newspaper reports, tickets, passes or posters from the Lamb period.

Flawed lists and incorrect tour dates lists abound to this day – even in recent publications. With our own inventory we have done our best to list the tour dates as accurately and reliably as possible.

Corrections will continue to be part of this project. Only recently (in early 2019), we found proof that the Wiesbaden show did not take place on May 12, but without doubt on May 14, 1975.

We would also like to hear from you if have something that supports a correct tour date for which we do not have definitive proof yet.
