When the tour in support of Peter Gabriel's second album ended by Christmas 1978, he had already played live some of the tracks that would appear on his third album: These were I Don't Remember, an early version of Not One Of Us and Family Snapshot as well as the Gabriel/Robinson-track Bully For You (see part 2). During the early phase of the writing sessions for the third album in spring and summer 1979, Peter was involved in three rare (guest) appearances, and new material was performed...
An early version of I Don't Remember was recorded before the album sessions really began. Also, the result of the first collaboration between Peter and Kate Bush aired on TV in late 1979...
Peter Gabriel used the first half of 1979 to write additional tracks for the upcoming album, which he would then record in the second half of the year...
Some songs were recorded, but not included on the final album. Two of these tracks appeared on later albums...

The website RealWorldRemixed.com released two sample packs in 2009/10 with single tracks / layers of the songs Games Without Frontiers and Not One Of Us. The intention was to provide the fans the opportunity to create own remixes, which were delivered in large numbers and could be heard on the mentioned website...

Two further recordings were produced in 1980 and released as single B-sides...
The China 1984 Tour began on 20th February 1980 in England and was finished after the third leg on 8th October in Portugal. The set list included songs that had been recorded but not released, like Bully For You and I Go Swimming, as well as a new track called Milgram's 37, which Peter would even sing in German during German shows...
Two live recordings of the tour were released officially...
It took Peter Gabriel two years to bring out his next album. Biko was re-recorded and released by Manu Dibango with Gabriels involvement in 1994. Intruder was re-recorded in 2010/11 for his Orchestra album New Blood.
