Teil 3: Peter Gabriel 3 (Melt) | 1979 - 1980

last update: 21/10/2019

When the tour in support of Peter Gabriel's second album ended by Christmas 1978, he had already played live some of the tracks that would appear on his third album: These were I Don't Remember, an early version of Not One Of Us and Family Snapshot as well as the Gabriel/Robinson-track Bully For You (see part 2). During the early phase of the writing sessions for the third album in spring and summer 1979, Peter was involved in three rare (guest) appearances, and new material was performed...

There are plenty of different versions of the albums tracks. Two outtakes also surfaced over the years. Parts of Family Snapshot and Not One Of Us were recycled for the soundtrack album Birdy (see part 5). The website RealWorldRemixed.com released two sample packs in 2009/10 with single tracks / layers of the songs Games Without Frontiers and Not One Of Us. The intention was to provide the fans the opportunity to create own remixes, which were delivered in large numbers and could be heard on the mentioned website...
