After his successful Secret World Tour, Peter Gabriel took some time for different activities in the following years. That even resulted in a collaboration with his ex-Band Genesis: For the 4CD-Set Archive 1967-1975, Peter has recorded new vocals for the live version of The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. During that time also the new version of The Carpet Crawlers was recorded and eventually released in 1999 on the Turn It On Again: The Hits sampler. In the mid-nineties, some of the tracks from the Up album were recorded as demo versions, or were even tested live. And with a few delays, his anticipated CDRom project EVE was released. Three tracks from OVO were rerecorded for the orchestral album New Blood in 2010/2011: Father, Son, Downside-Up and The Nest That Sailed The Sky. The latter was also used for the soundtrack Long Walk Home in the tracks A Sense Of Home and The Return Part 2. For the next real Peter Gabriel-Album, fans still had to wait two further years, although he mentioned in 2000 already that he had penned around 130 songs, though in different production stages ...
