In 1993 Genesis together with Pink Floyd and Queen played a concert at Cowdray Ruins. It was their last performance with Phil Collins.
Genesis released the second part of their live album from the We Can’t Dance tour in January 1993. The Way We Walk: The Longs was mainly for the long-term fans of the band.
The extremely successful 1992 open air world tour and the theatre tour that followed in the UK prompted several releases. The first of these was volume 1 of The Way We Walk – The Shorts.
1983 and 1984 saw Genesis on their biggest tour so far, though it led them mainly through North America. In Europe, only the English fans had the privilege to see the bands for five nights at Birmingham.
Duke became an important album in history of Genesis – and probably their last album prog fans liked..
In 1972 Genesis could enjoy their first commercial success: Their album Foxtrot reached number 12 in the UK charts. They also reached new artistic heights.
Nursery Cryme was the album that made Genesis a force to reckon with in the progressive rock genre. Despite a lack of success it is considered a classic. We analyze why.
