Within the Genesis family, there is hardly another musician, who has been that active in terms of songwriting and recording as is Peter Gabriel. It’s nearly impossible to get an overview about stuff he has written and recorded. We try to bring some light into the dark with this series of Recording Compendiums.
In addition to the review and the track-by-track analyses, we have compiled further information on various aspects of the album.

Earlier this year, a delegation of the German Genesis Fanclub visited Hans-Martin Buff in his studio in Berlin and had the chance to listen to the Dolby Atmos Mix of i/o in his Atmos studio.
In addition to the review and the track-by-track analyses, we have compiled further information on various aspects of the album.
Music videos have also been made for some of i/o’s songs and have been officially released one after the other. Here we present them briefly and gather some background information.
Since January, the Full Moon Club is back. You can find it on Bandcamp and besides the normal track releases, Peter also makes special tracks available to the members.
Peter Gabriel is also providing a piece of art to accompany each new track on the upcoming album. We take a closer look at them and the respective artists behind them here.
The years that end with a two are, in Peter Gabriel’s case, special years. Because in them, an astonishing number of his solo albums have a round anniversary. We would like to comemorate the anniversary with a small series of articles.
In October 2021, Peter helped his daughter Anna Gabriel present her book Eye-D. It shows close-ups of the eye parts of many famous stars. Peter is only indirectly involved in the project.
After his orchstral phase, Peter continued working on his new album – but got always disctracted by various litle projects and some touring activity.
Peter Gabriel’s orchestra project turned out to be unexpectedly successful – at least at a level which caused yet another distraction from working on a new album. Meanwhile, Peter was also quite creative elsewhere.
