John Hackett: New album “Moonspinner”

John Hackett MoonspinnerMoonspinner – for flute and guitar, this is the title of John Hackett’s new album. It is a successor to his acoustic albums Velvet Afternoon and Prelude To Summer, and it shows again his strength as a flautist and a guitarist (though his brother will always dwarve him). The album contains 14 new compositions of John’s and as a bonus his interpretations of one piece each by J.S.Bach and Claude Debussy.

The CD is available since October 24, 2011 (www.hacktrax.co.uk oder amazon-uk or amazon.com.

Also available is a live album called 2010 Live that John recorded with Nick Magnus. As the title indicates, it was recorded in 2010, where the duo played an excellent selection of their own pieces as well as a couple of tracks by John’s brother Steve. The album offers a remarkable bonus track Hands Of The Priestess where John and Nick were accompanied by guitarist Giorgio Gabriel of The Watch.

2010 Live is available from Nick Magnus’ website (www.magnus-music.com), from amazon-uk and from amazon.com.
