Mike + The Mechanics: 3 shows in South Africa
After their European shows this summer (click here for the complete list), Mike + The Mechanics will perform in South Africa for the first time since 1995 in the frame of the 110th Anniversary celebration of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle company. Three shows are planned in Sun City (17th August), Carnival City (18h August) and Grand West in Cape Town (possibly 20th August, but please note that this show has not been confirmed yet). The Scottish Band The Bogus Brothers will also be part of these live shows and will support the Mechanics. Besides the live shows, the whole band will also visit primary schools
to raise awareness on the importance of reading in partnership with the
M-Net Cares initiative. Tickets for the shows will be available in April and details about the venues will also be revealed soon. More details about the whole story can be found at this link.
Mike Rutherford visited South Africa last year to record the choir sections of the new version of his song The Living Years, featuring Andrew Roachford on lead vocals. Mike revealed this information during our interview with him in Dresden last year.
