Mike + The Mechanics – 30 years “Beggar On A Beach Of Gold”

The album Beggar On A Beach Of Gold by Mike + The Mechanics was released 30 years ago today.
The album is one of the band’s most popular and surprised with its acoustic sound in 1995. With A Beggar On A Beach Of Gold, Another Cup Of Coffee and, above all, Over My Shoulder, it produced three radio hits that are still part of the band’s standard repertoire during their shows today.
To mark the anniversary, an 30 years edition was released today on the streaming platforms, which contains further tracks. There are acoustic versions of the title track, Another Cup Of Coffee and Over My Shoulder. These are new recordings which first appeared on the bonus CD of the Out Of The Blue album with Roachford and Tim Howar on vocals. The single B-sides Always The Last To Know, Help Me, Nobody Told Me, Boys At The Front, Little Boy (Tender Touch), You Don’t Know What Love Is and You Never Change are also included. All B-sides are from the Beggar sessions. The B-sides were also included on the compilation Singles 1985-2014.
A release on CD or Vinyl is apparently not planned at the moment.
