Nad Sylvan: New solo album “Monumentata” comes in June

Nad Sylvan - Monumentata

Nad Sylvan will release his 5th solo album, called Monumentata, on 20 June. The album is his most personal to date.

After his acclaimed Vampirate trilogy and the most recent album Spiritus Mundi (2021), Nad Sylvan has announced his fifth solo album.

Nad describes Monumentata as his most personal record to date: “This album is much more vulnerable. I’d say about 75% of the lyrics are directly about my life – it’s me laying everything out there, wearing my heart on my sleeve.”

The album’s title is merging the terms “Monument” and “Tata”, Nad explains: “I lost my parents, and knowing that they’re gone – and that one day, I’m probably next in line – that felt “monumental” to me. “Tata” means “Father” in Hungarian, and my dad was half Hungarian. So, I combined those two words to create something new. That’s where the word ‘Monumentata’ came from. It’s about losing someone and the disappointment.”

The press release says: Sylvan’s music draws heavily from the golden age of progressive rock while blending in folk, classical, and modern rock influences, resulting in a sound that feels both classic and contemporary. This collection of 8 tracks continues bridging those styles while sprinkling in a few more, from the jazzy-pop feel of Flowerland to the 60’s R&B influenced Monte Carlo Priceless, to the aggressive rock flavor of That’s Not Me. Fans who were hoping for another Vampirate concept should know this: “The Vampirate persona is gone – I’m not interested in that anymore”, says Nad.
