Chester Thompson will release his new studio album Wake-Up Call on October 1. The album was already available via Progrock Essentials a few weeks ago, but will now also be released through the label of the band Unitopia (with whom he is currently touring). It will definitely be available on Bandcamp. Currently there is no info if you can buy it elsewhere, we will keep you up to date.
Wake-Up Call (the title has nothing to do with the Phil Collins song of the same name) has its origins in the COVID time. Chester then sent the drum tracks to Robert and Michiko Hill (bass, keyboards), who in turn finished composing the songs based on Chester's drumming. Most of the songs on the album were composed accordingly by the two. Chester has been working with the two for a long time. Other instruments were then added as needed, that includes contributions by Akil Thompson, Chester's son.
