In an interview with a French music magazine, Manu Katché revealed that the Peter Gabriel i/o tour band will soon meet at Real World Studios for three weeks.
Drummer Manu Katché recently gave an interview to the French drummer magazine Batterie. When asked, he also commented on further plans with Peter Gabriel:
"I don't have any precise information, but what I can say is that we'll be at Real World Studios for three weeks in January 2025, with Peter. That's all I know. We all asked why, but he wouldn't tell us."
Then they ask: “For an album?”
"It's for rehearsals, it's for filming. We'll see. I don't know and I really insisted. We don't have any information. The whole band of the i/o tour will be there for three weeks. We'll all be there ... We'll see!"
We have no further information on this, but the three weeks could be used for additional filming for the long awaited i/o The Tour concert film (among other things). That would also explain why the concert movie has not been announced yet. Of course, more songs for an i/o successor could also be recorded during this time, but all this is pure speculation. The meeting won't be for tour rehearsals.
Peter Gabriel created a mixture of the World Music in Passion with the Mainstream of So.
