As most of you are aware of, Phil Collins has given several interviews during the Tarzan premiere in Stuttgart, Germany, two weeks ago, saying that he is writing music again and and can also imagine to play live-shows, even a tour with Genesis was part of the discussions (see also our news item about this here). Since then, Phil's quotes have appeared nearly everywhere and even some ticket websites have put up ticket alert services for possible live shows (i.e. Eventim in Germany).
With respect to the recent interviews with Phil and a possible comeback we have asked his management for an official statement. This is what we have received today:
“As of this date we would like to make it clear that although there are discussions going on there is nothing confirmed and it is by no means certain that there will be any live performances. Should this change there will be an official announcement.”
Unsurprisingly, there are no definite plans for anything, but also they do not rule out anything for the future.
Phil Collins Debutalbum became a classic of the 80ies and is probably his best album to date.
