Peter Gabriel: Lou Reed’s version of Solsbury Hill released

The moon is full again and the time has therefore come for the next iTunes single from Scratch My Back. The fourth song is The Power Of The Heart.

The original song by Lou Reed is rather unknown and hard to get, but Peter Gabriel’s version convinced his fans right away, as a survey in the German forum showed.

Lou Reed adds an idiosyncratic version of Solsbury Hill to the single. Do we need to warn you? It is definitely strong stuff, and in the end it is at least very difficult to get into. Lou Reed’s version has nothing at all to do with Gabriel’s merry original. Reed has transformed the original into a completely different song, just like Gabriel did with many of the songs on Scratch My Back.
