Peter Gabriel: MusicTiles App. available

Peter Gabriel has always been interested in playing around with his music, and it is also because of this that he started projects like XPLORA-1 and EVE. He was remarkably quiet around the opportunities that smartphones and tablet computers have to offer (except for the Full Moon Club App that came out around Scratch My Backand has been idling for a long time) until Gabble, his first iPad app came out. Gabble is more of a visual toy and less of a musical means of arranging things. Gabble is available from the App Store in most parts of the world.

Now he steps up the pace. MusicTiles is a new app that has become available on January 8. You can use this app to create completely new versions and mixed of the songs on Peter’s So album. Simple use the virtual musical ’tiles’ in the app to remix the song. The app comes with examples of electronica and industrial versions of some So songs. Sadly, it’s not possible to export complete remixes of songs. MusicTiles is released in Apple’s App Store on January 8. An Android version has not been mentioned.
