Peter Gabriel: New “I Go Swimming” version on Bandcamp

Peter Gabriel I Go Swimming Rough Studio Mix

For today’s full moon, Peter Gabriel surprised his Full Moon Club with a studio version of the song I Go Swimming.

He had announced something special for today’s Full Moon a few days ago and there was prompt speculation. In the end, there was no new post-i/o song or such thing. But this is a real highlight from the early 80s.

The ‘Studio Rough Mix’ of I Go Swimming is special as there has never been a regularly released studio version of the song with vocals. The recording is from July 1981. Eventually, a live version of the song was later released on Plays Live. An instrumental studio version has also been officially released (on Flotsam And Jetsam, among others). However, this is in fact the first studio version with vocals to be released. It also differs from the version that many fans may know from the Ashcombe Works bootleg. I Go Swimming (Studio Rough Mix) is available now on Bandcamp.

A few days ago, the live album Lunatics In The Big Room at the Full Moon Club was updated as well – you can now find Shock The Monkey on Bandcamp in the Lunatics album.

Gabriel’s Full Moon Club on Bandcamp provides fans with at least three tracks per month and costs £3 per month. A credit card is required for the subscription. You can find the Full Moon Club here.

A complete list will all Bandcamp exclusives can be found in this article.
