Peter Gabriel to release LP with film songs
UPDATE 11th March 2019: Further and more detailed information can be found on our Rated PGoverview page.
Peter Gabriel will release a special LP in the frame of the Record Store Day on 13th April. The album is called Rated PG and contains film songs – some of them are known from soundtracks, some are new or alternative versions, and some are even unknown.
This is the tracklist:
- That’ll Do
- Down to Earth
- This Is Party Man [*new version of Party Man]
- The Book of Love [film version from Shall We Dance?]
- Taboo (featuring Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan) [* new edit]
- Everybird [* previously unreleased]
- Walk Through the Fire
- Speak (Bol) [* previously unreleased]
- Nocturnal [* previously unreleased]
- In Your Eyes [* film version from Say Anything – previously unreleased]
It looks like the most exciting songs are, on the one hand, the new track Everybird(there was no information about the existance of this track, although the film Birds Like Uscame out in 2017). On the other hand there will be a new version of Party Man, now called This Is Party Man, which was originally part of the Virtuositysoundtrack and quickly became a favorite among hard core fans. What the ‘previously unreleased’ versions really will be like in comparison with the known versions will be revealed on April 13th. In any case this album contains a lot of tracks which will be made available officially for the very first time on this record.
We are also looking forward to hearing the different film version of In Your Eyes.
Peter Gabriel says about this album:
“I have always loved film and any chance I have been offered to work with good film projects and good directors I have jumped at. This is a mixture of songs that have been written for specific films, and existing songs that found an appropriate place in a story. Consequently, there is a mix of different styles and moods.”
– Peter Gabriel
Since this album will only be available as part of the Record Store Day and only on vinyl, Peter will offer a high resolution download for all people who will buy the LP. More information is also available on Peter Gabriel’s Homepage.
