Peter Gabriel turns 75 today – Happy Birthday

One day after Steve Hackett, Peter Gabriel also turns 75 today – congratulations!

It is one of those special days in the history of Genesis. Phil Collins’ first solo album – Face Value – was released on 13 February 1981. In addition, the single Over My Shoulder by Mike & The Mechanics was released in 1995. It became one of their major hits. And Genesis started their second career without Peter Gabriel on 13 February 1976 – with A Trick Of The Tail. And Peter Gabriel himself was born on 13 February 1950 and is therefore celebrating his 75th birthday today.

Like Steve Hackett, Peter Gabriel has also had an eventful career. Although he has produced far less music than Steve, he has always been interested in interesting projects outside of making music. This also meant that the intervals between his studio albums became longer and longer. Just recently, his fans had to wait 21 years for his latest album i/o.

We wish Peter Gabriel all the best and hope that a possible successor to i/o comes sooner than we think. Happy birthday, Peter.
