Phil Collins: Dates for Oceania in early 2019 officially revealed
Phil Collins himself announced his return to Australia und New Zealand a few days ago in an interview with the Rolling Stone magazine (we reported). The fifth tour leg of Not Dead Yet Live will kick off in Brisbane on 19th January 2019. The tour will then hit five of the largest cities in Australia before moving on to New Zealand in early February 2019. Both the northern and southern island will see a concert each. The shows will mostly be outdoors (mainly in stadiums), only in Sydney and Perth Phil Collins will play in modern indoor arenas.
This announcement marks the return to Australia after almost 24 years and will be the fourth tour down under in Phil Collins’ solo career after 1985, 1990 and 1995. Even more remarkable is the fact, that Phil Collins will visit New Zealand for the first time ever in his solo career. He only played one single concert there with Genesis in Auckland back in late 1986. This time New Zealand’s major city will not see a concert as the northern island will have its show at the Mission Estate Winery in Napier on the east coast. It will also be the last concert of this tour leg. And there is another fun fact: for the first time ever a Phil Collins solo tour will last over three calender years (2017/2018/2019).
We have no information about a support act yet.
Tickets will go on sale on 5th September 2018.
Before returning to the southern hemisphere, Phil Collins will tour North America for almost the whole of October 2018, starting in Fort Lauderdale on 5th October 2018.
