Steve Hackett: “Genesis Revisited II” out Oct 22

In 1996, Steve Hackett released the album Genesis Revisited. For the first time, Steve took a closer look at his work with the band and did some reinterpretations, some of those were very special. Besides the studio album (click here to read the review) he also went on a short tour and recorded a live album and DVD The Tokyo Tapes (review).

CoverMore than 15 years later, Steve finally revealed that he was working on another Genesis Revisited album. During the most recent tours, Steve has enjoyed playing old Genesis classics more and more so this decision made perfect sense. Hackett and the involved musicians have leaked quite a lot information about the album during the past few months, and now it is official: Genesis Revisited IIwill be released in October (19th: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway / 22nd: UK and most of Europe / 23rd: North America, Spain, Italy / 26th: Australia, New Zealand) by the InsideOut label.

On the album, there are plenty of guest musicians, this is the complete list: Roger King, Amanda Lehmann, Christine Townsend, Dave Kerzner, Dick Driver, Francis Dunnery, Gary O’Toole, John Hackett, John Wetton, Mikael Akerfeldt, Nad Sylvan, Nik Kershaw, Phil Mulford, Roine Stolt, Steve Rothery, Nick Magnus, Neal Morse, Jeremy Stacey, Conrad Keely, Nick Beggs, Steven Wilson, Rob Townsend, Jakko Jakszyk, Simon Collins, Lee Pomeroy, Djabe.
