Steve Hackett: GTR album to be rereleased on 2CD
In the 80ies, when Genesis and its solo members dominated the American charts, Steve Hackett was part of that with his supergroup project GTR. Steve formed the band with Steve Howe (Yes) and they recorded one (self-titled) studio album, which was quite successful and contained the US-Top-20-hit When The Heart Rules The Mind in 1986. Besides Steve Hackett and Steve Howe, singer Mac Bacon, bassist Phil Spalding and drummer Johnathan Mover were part of the band.
Their only studio album GTR has now been remastered. Also, the artwork has been fully restored and to the surprise of many, it will be rereleased in late August on 2CD. Besides the known album tracks, the package will include three studio bonus tracks and a complete live-CD with 14 tracks. The live tracks were recorded in Los Angeles in 1986 and were subject to previous releases and well known among fans from the live album The King Biscuit Flower Hour. Nevertheless, this recording has not been available for some time now. It contains not only GTR tracks. With tracks like I Know What I Like, Roundabout or Spectral Mornings it also contains tracks from Hackett’s and Howe’s own repertoirs. The complete tracklist:
