Steve Hackett turns 75 today – Happy Birthday!

Steve Hackett turns 75 today. We congratulate him and have a little present for his fans.

Steve Hackett is the first member of the classic Genesis line-up to turn 75 today. Steve has been a professional musician for more than two-thirds of his life and has been active as a solo artists for almost 50 years. And he remains busy – no other member of the Genesis family has produced and performed as much music live in recent years as Steve Hackett.

Steve is also the one who has kept the Genesis flag flying high for years, playing the Genesis classics from his time in the band in his shows. In addition to his tours and solo albums, he still finds time for special projects. For example, the Squackett album with Chris Squire – or the announced but not yet released album with Steve Rothery of Marillion. His collaboration with the Hungarian jazz band Djabe is probably the most special one – it has become a tradition. A new album will be released soon.

A Steve Hackett Recording Compendium for his birthday

For once, we don’t have a present for Steve on his birthday, but for his fans. Today sees the launch of our fourth Recording Compendium. The introduction and part 1 are now online. Further parts will be added to the new Steve Hackett Recording Compendium in the coming months.
