The third part of the Phil Collins Recording Compendium deals with Phill Collins’ activities around his debut album Face Value.
The second project of the two science fiction fans Jack Lancaster and Robin Lumley was composed and conceived on the occasion of the landing of NASA’s Viking 2 Explorer on Mars planned for September. A new edition (remastered) has been released in 2022.
Lancaster and Lumley have produced the first “children’s musical”, so to speak, Peter And The Wolf by the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev as an audio-only version with musical guests in a jazz-rock way. Steffen Gerlach took a closer look at the new remastered edition in 2021.
In April 1980, the Brand X Songs of the Night Band (the 1979 sessions) were released. The album was called Do They Hurt?.
