Rumours about a possible Genesis reunion have been circulating since around 2000. These rumours grew into serious hopes in 2005 when the classic Genesis line-up met to discuss this possibility. We have assembled the facts and events for you.
In 2009 Tony Banks’ debut album came out again as a remaster. A deluxe version offers additional 5.1 surround sound. Both the album and the surround mix are reviewed by two authors.
In 2009 Ray Wilson took his new show concept GENESIS Klassik on tour. His band was augmented by classical instruments from the Berlin Symphony Ensemble. On August 13, 2009 the band played a show for Radio Berlin; the recording of which is now available on CD
Genesis Live was the band’s first live album. It has gained enormous respect amongst fans. In 2009 it has been rereleased in the Live Boxset, complete with surround sound and bonus tracks.
When Peter Gabriel left the band in 1975 Genesis had to reorientate and restructure. Though it was developed by a provisional band line-up, as it were, it is an album that has gained great recognition by fans and critics alike.
When Phil Collins released his first solo album in 1981 he had been a member of Genesis for ten years and their singer for five years. Still he managed to create an extraordinary album with a touch of the “first time”.
