Going Back has been released in a number of various formats. We have compiled an overview for you.
Phil Collins is Going Back – his new album (see our review) is a musical journey into the past. It is also a challenge for fans and collectors alike, for the album comes in a range of formats. We have compiled an overview about what sets off each version.
a) Standard CD

b) Special Edition CD/DVD
The Special Edition does not only contain a bonus DVD but also bonus tracks. CD and DVD come in a lovingly designed Digipak. The design is made to look “old”; the interior contains an overview of all 15 “singles” of the album.

c) Exclusive Limited Edition
A Special Edition of the new album is available exclusively from Phil Collins’s official website. It is a limited run of 4,500 copies that contains the special edition of the album (see above), lithographs of handwritten lyrics (in roughly 12 by 16.5in with Phil’s signature printed on them) and another four lithographs (4.1 x 5.8in) of rare photos with Phil’s signature.
This Exclusive Limited Edition can be ordered exclusively from the PhilCollins Webstore.
d) Vinyl-LP
The 18 tracks of the standard album will also be released on vinyl. The black vinyl LP comes in a gatefold sleeve.

e). Singles Limited Edition
This version of Going Back is a real treat. It consists of no less than 15 (!) vinyl singles in a box that cover 30 tracks. They include all the recordings from the sessions. The version can be ordered from either Warner’s Phil Collins Webstore or from JPC.
Each single has its own B side; they also all have their own artwork.

g) Single releases
(Love Is Like A) Heatwave is the first single from the album. It has come out in several formats in Germany:
– MaxiCD (2 tracks)
– iTunes EP (4 tracks)
Going Back (4 track digital EP).
A 14 track version of the album, called The Essential Going Back, was released in the frame of the Take A Look At Me Now re-release campaign.
