The records from 1970 to 1975 on SACD/DVD + bonus SACD/DVD

NEW - Vinyl box set to be released before Christmas!

General information:

Boxset Gabriel Era The third bunch of re-releases was published on Nov 07, 2008. It contains all studio albums from 1970 to 1975:

- Trespass

- Nursery Cryme

- Foxtrot

- Selling England By The Pound

- The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

Everything was newly mixed on the basis of the original multitrack tapes. The first albums were recorded on 8-track or 16-track so that there are some limitations about the 5.1 sound.

The albums were released as SACD / DVD double disc sets. The Lamb Lies Down On Bradway consists of two SACDs and one DVD.

A bonus SACD / DVD is also available but only as part of the complete box set with all other five albums (or rather 4 albums and one double album). The bonus disk contains the non-album tracks from that period.

NOTE: The albums will not be released individually on Nov 07, 2008. If they are released at all it will be at a later date. The SACD/DVD double disc sets are only available as part of the box set!

Genesis 1970-1975 boxset

The Boxset contains the albums Trespass, Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound and The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway.

In addition there is a bonus SACD / DVD (CD / DVD in North America) with non-album tracks (see below for a full list).

The SACDs offer the following audio formats:

- CD stereo (plays on all CD players)
- SACD stereo (plays on SACD players only)
- SACD 5.1 Surround (plays on SACD players if you have a 5.1 surround system)

There will be no SACDs in North America; the first disc will be a normal CD there. The DVDs contains the complete album in Dolby Digital 5.1 and 96kHZ / 24 bit dts as well as bonus video material. The boxset also has a booklet. As expected the box will be green.

Information about the slides on The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

The images play as a slideshow on the bonus DVD while you can listen to the album in Dolby Digital 5.1 or dts 5.1 surround sound. In addition there will be photos and super-8 video footage.

Exceptionally well-informed sources tell us that:

- There will be all original slides that could be seen during the shows.
- The slides are placed on the TV screen as they were during the shows, i.e. three slides next to each other.
- There will be a black background or unobtrusive photos from the shows.
- Where there are no slides super-8 video footage from the shows will be shown.

Genesis asked Serge Morissette (artistic director with The Musical Box) to put together this slideshow. He worked closely together with the band and produced the final result you can enjoy on the Lamb bonus DVD of the boxset.

Boxset

1970-1975 Vinyl boxset

This boxset will also be available in a vinyl edition consisting of four LPs and one double LP, extra tracks not included. All LPs come in a gatefold sleeve on 200g heavy-weight vinyl. The records were produced in half-speed mastering to suffice audiophile expectations. These new cuts will be based on the new mixed. The box set will be released in a sturdy slipcase before Christmas.
