A report on the American Rolling Stone website about a possible Phil Collins comeback has produced a flood of articles worldwide recently (click here). A new album was announced and a tour is currently being planned - that's what readers of these articles were made to believe. The truth is different. We took the opportunity to check back with the Genesis / Phil Collins management and we have also some answers to your questions about the re-release campaign.
Will Phil release a new album soon?
No. Phil never said he's doing a new album. Phil only said that if the re-issues are well recevied it would be ’silly to not make more music’, so nothing is planned.
Will Phil be touring again?
No plans. Phil only said that if he did go back on the road then he would finish the First Final Farewell Tour which didn’t get to South America, Australia and the Far East. Nothing will happen within the next 12 months.
What happens to the Little Dreams Foundation gig?
It hasn't been officially postponed, but it's likely to be moved until some time early next year. We'll keep you posted.
UPDATE 31st Oct: The gala has been rescheduled - it will now take place on March 11. On-sale tickets will be available November 13. More info to follow.
Will 5.1 surround versions of his albums be released?
No. Surround sound versions have not been created and will not be created. Only remasters.
Will B-sides and demos be compiled on a separate set?
There are no plans to produce a b-sides and demos Box set. The major plan is to stick to the albums as it is. 2CDs with selected tracks as bonus material (b-sides, demos and live tracks selected by Phil himself).
Are there further release plans?
Further ideas are being discussed, but no decision has been made and it's too early to reveal anything.
Will the concert films be re-released as well?
Work has also started on some concert films, but nothing has been decided yet. There is no professional material available from the Both Sides Tour (which has been a fan request for years), only TV footage.
We also recommend to check our Take A Look At Me Now campaign website.
Phil Collins Debutalbum became a classic of the 80ies and is probably his best album to date.
