Several years before Peter Gabriel tried his first solo experiments, he had three smaller guest appearances outside his band Genesis in the early 70s. On the one hand as a flautist on Cat Steven's third album and on the other hand together with his new band colleague Phil Collins and others as a background singer on the debut album by Colin Scot and an album by the Keef Hartley Band...

Immediately after the tour, Peter began the recording sessions for his second album.


For a full picture it should be noted that new recordings of certain songs by and with Peter Gabriel were made, which will be mentioned in later parts of this Recording Compendium: Here Comes The Flood [Robert Fripp Version 1978], Here Comes The Flood [Robert Fripp Version Remix 1983], Here Comes The Flood [Solo Version 1979], Jetzt Kommt die Flut [Here Comes The Flood German Version 1980] and Here Comes The Flood (New Recording 1990). A new recording of his hit Solsbury Hill was done 2010/11 for his orchestra album New Blood.
